Chris Gilbert

Chris Gilbert's life has revolved around cheerleading since she was a sophomore at Plainville High School.  She participated in NCA nationals in 1983 and 1984.  Chris earned a degree in dental assisting at Briarwood College.  In 1989 she was approached by Plainville High School to coach their cheer team.  Chris worked full time in an orthodontic office and part time as a cheer coach. Chris decided to leaving coaching at PHS in 1994 to focus on her family.  She return to PHS in 1996 to PHS cheerleading as the varsity coach.  Many of the achievements of her teams can be viewed in the showcase hallways of PHS, the result of her 12 years of coaching.  Her teams traveled to many competitions, placing in the top five at every event.

In 2002, Chris left PHS to start her own cheerleading program, known as Central Valley Cheerleading Training Center, Home of the Central Valley Panthers All-Star Cheerleading. The program was initially started at Farmington Sports Arena in June 2002. Moved to a 2000 sq foot facility in Plainville on East Main St and then in October 2007, moved to our new 4000 sq foot facility located at 30G Hayden Ave Plainville.

Chris' achievements include local, state, national and world champions. Chris was nominated as Coach of the Year in 2002.  She was a member of the CIAC cheer committee 1994-2002, USASF credentialed, a certified judge in local and state competitions, and has many outstanding accomplishments for the CVCTC program. She also coaches the Middle School of Plainville winter cheer team. Chris resides in Plainville with her two children, Gavin and Jake.
