Message From the Director

CVP is proud to announce the all-star cheerleading team selections for the Youth, Junior, and two Senior teams that will be competing during the 2011 season.  The Open team selections will be announced at a later date.

The final rankings for the US Finals are official and CVP did outstanding! 

• Junior 2 - 10^th out of 40
• Senior 3 - 7^th out of 33
• Senior 4 - 2^nd out of 16

Note that all teams had to qualify for this truly national competition so CVP was up against the biggest and best gyms in the country.  CVP proves once again that good things come in small packages!

Congratulations to all the CVP cheerleaders for a truly outstanding season.  The entire CVP family is proud of your accomplishments.

CVP capped off an amazing 2009-2010 season with three first place finishes at the US Finals - Final Destination in Orlando, FL on April 17.  The Junior 2, Senior 3, and Senior 4 teams all put together outstanding performances to close out the season in grand style.  The Senior 4 team had the highest score of the day for all teams in all divisions.  The CVP family spirit was on display for all to see both at the hotel and at the competition.  Photos are available in the media section of the web site.

"The only thing wrong with today was that there was no concession stand."  Rob Carroll's assessment of the Xtreme Spirit Championships in New Haven on April 11 says it all.  All four CVP teams (Youth, Junior, Senior 3 and Senior 4) had outstanding performances and won their age divisions.  Additionally, the Senior 3 and Senior 4 teams won Grand Champions for all teams in level 3 and level 4, respectively. The CVP family had another enjoyable time outside the gym tailgating in the beautiful weather.  Pictures of the day will be available in the Media section in the near future.  CVP is well positioned for the Final Destination competition next week.  Go CVP!

CVP continued their winning ways at the UCDF Cheer and Dance Championshps at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI on Saturday, April 3.  In what many agree was the most challenging competition CVP has faced all season, Senior 4 placed 1^st, Senior 3 placed 2^nd, and Junior 2 placed 2^nd.  The Senior 4 team bounced back from a tough weekend at the NECA Championships to not only win their age division, but also win level 4 champions for all age divisions.  They also received a paid bid to the All Levels Championships.  Congratulations to Mariah G. for winning one of the five UCDF scholarships awarded during the competition. 

CVP had a good overall showing at the NECA Championships in Kingston, RI on March 27.  The competition was excellent.  The Senior 3 team had an outstanding performance and won their division.  The Junior 2 team placed third and the Youth 1 team placed fifth out of ten.  The Senior 4 team placed fifth after having to stop the routine due to an unfortunate injury, leave the floor, return four minutes later with a new team member (thank you Nicole!), and pick right back up where they left off.  Nice job on remaining positive and doing your best no matter what the circumstances.  As usual, the CVP parents and supporters were impressive in their vocal support of the teams.

While the weather outside the Manhattan Center Studios in NYC was dreadful, what happened inside was fantastic.  All four CVP teams had outstanding performances and all four took first place honors in their respective divisions at the NCA Big Apple Championships held in New York City on March 13.  In addition to winning their divisions, the Junior 2 team won Best Choreography and the Senior 4 team won Best Partner Stunts and Grand Champions for the entire competition.  Our roving reporter down near the competition floor noted that had there been an award for Most Spirited Parents the CVP parents would have walked away with an award as well!  Nice job this weekend by all.

CVP continued their winning ways on Sunday with an outstanding showing at the Quinnipiac University  All-star Cheer Challenge.  The Youth team took second in their division and were awarded the Best Spirit Award.  The Junior 2, Senior 3, and Senior 4 teams all won their respective divisions.  Additionally, the Senior 4 team won Best Choreography.

CVP had another very good showing at the Cheersport Grand Championships held at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA on Feb 21.  The Senior 3 and Senior 4 teams won their age divisions (Grand Champions).  The Senior 3 team won Best of the Best for Level 3 (best score in all age divisions at Level 3).  The Junior 2 team placed 6^th in a very tough division.  Great job today by everyone!

The CVP teams continued their tradition of excellence by capturing four firsts and four Grand Champions at the Jam Live! competition held at the Hartford Convention Center on Sat, Jan 23. Click Read More for details.

All four CVP teams had an outstanding weekend at the Spirit Fest Nationals held on Jan 9 & 10.  The Youth team finished second in their division while the Junior 2, Senior 3, and Senior 4 teams all won their divisions.  Click Read More below for more information and pictures.

CVP started off the all-star cheerleading season with a bang on Saturday.  Each CVP team won their division in addition to winning some other well deserved honors.
