Results for Jam Live! and Cheersport

CVP wasn't fooling around this weekend.  All four teams were in action and all four put on outstanding performances.

At Jam Live! in Worcester on Saturday, the Jr2 Divas won first place in their division and grand champions for all level 2.  Callia Donohue was named as a Celebrity Standout.  The Sr3 Dream team put on a great performance and earned a second place finish, being edged out of first by a very strong ECE team.  The Sr4 Sensations put together a terrific routine and won first place in their division and grand champions.  The Sr4 score was one half of a point from being the highest score across all levels - including levels 5 and 6.  Chanel Macklin was named a Celebrity Standout as well.

The Jr2 Fantasy team wrapped up the weekend with a first place finish Sunday at Cheersport in Springfield in only their second performance ever!

Congratulations and nice work everyone!

Results for NCA Nationals

Each of the three CVP teams competing at the NCA Nationals put on great performances and represented CT well in Dallas.  Our very young Junior 2 Divas were up against some older teams and they held their own with two solid routines, finishing fourth.  The Senior 3 Dream suffered an unfortunate injury early in the routine on Saturday.  The were allowed to perform the routine again later in the day, but due to the nature of the injury and the rules of the competition they had to  perform without the injured cheerleader.  This team really showed their heart on Sunday when they revamped the routine on the practice mat and came out and nailed the performance later in the day.  Everyone agreed that it was an inspired performance.  The Senior 3 Dream finished sixth.  The Senior 4 Sensations leveraged the difficulty of their routine and their powerful tumbling to earn a second place finish.  When the Senior 4 team puts together a clean routine from beginning to end they will be unstoppable.

Be sure to check out the CVP Facebook page for pictures and video of the competition.

Results for Beast of the East Winter Nationals

Every gym has one of "those" competitions.  This weekend was CVP's turn.  The Junior 2 division was not divided into small gym and large gym categories so the Jr2 Divas had to hold their own against much larger gyms.  They came away with a fifth place finish.  The Sr3 Dream team finished third and the Sr4 Sensations finished third as well.

Now it's on to bigger and better things!  The NCA Nationals in Dallas, TX are up next.  The entire gym is really looking forward to a great weekend in the South.

Results for The Athletic Championships

All three teams came to play at The Athletic Championships at the Rhode Island Convention Center in the season's first two day competition on Sat, Jan 28 and Sun, Jan 29.  After the first day of competition, all three teams were in second place.  The Junior 2 Divas and the Senior 3 Dream put together outstanding performances to vault into first place on the final day and claim the title of National Champions.  The Senior 4 Sensation wasn't able to overcome the lead that Pro Athletics had built on the first day and the Spirit Explosion team that was nipping at their heels in 3rd place after Day 1 edged them out for second place on the final day.  By placing in the top three in their divisions, each team wins a bid to the International All Levels competition to be held later in the season.  Nice job by all teams this weekend.  Congratulations.

Results for Coastal Cheer & Dance Big League Brawl

After over a month off from competitions, the three full year teams were back on the floor on Jan 22 at the Coastal Cheer & Dance Big League Brawl in Springfield, MA.  Aside from some dropped stunts, the Junior 2 Divas team looked strong.  They placed third in their division.  The young Senior 3 Dream team pulled in Mariah G. from the Senior 4 team to fill in for a cheerleader who was unavailable due to illness and tied for third in their division.  The Senior 4 Sensations relied on the strength of their tumbling and their choreography to overcome some dropped stunts to pull out first place in their division.  The Senior 4 team capped the win with the judges' Wow! award.  The teams are back in action next weekend at The Athletic Championships in Providence, RI.

Advanced Spirit Cutting Edge Classic

All three full year teams kicked off the 2011-2012 season with a trip to the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence for the Advanced Spirit Cutting Edge Classic on Dec 4.  The Junior 2 and Senior 3 teams returned with first place awards while the Senior 4 team was edged out of first by five one hundredths of a point.  The Senior 3 team overcame an injury sustained during the routine to win top honors.  CVP friends and families look forward to continued success through the 2011-2012 season.
